Freedom Online Coalition (FOC)

The FOC was founded by the Dutch government in 2011 with the aim to strengthen human rights on the Internet. 30 states are joined in the FOC. They work closely with non-governmental organisations and prepare joint statements with them. The presidency of FOC rotates with the annual conferences. So far, the chair was held by the Netherlands, Kenya, Tunisia, Estonia, Mongolia and Costa Rica. Germany has taken over the presidency in 2017.
