Internet Society (ISOC)

ISOC was brought into existence in 1992 by IETF engineers committed to societal needs. Since then, ISOC has grown into the largest NGO in the field of Internet policy. ISOC has secretariats in Los Angeles, USA, and Geneva, Switzerland, and over 100 national chapters around the world. Chaired by President Andrew Sullivan, it is ISOC's mission to ensure that everyone has access to the Internet.

ISOC regularly comments on political processes and Internet negotiations, publishes an annual report on the development of the Internet and is the home of the Internet Hall of Fame.
