United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNICITRAL)

The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law was created by the UN General Assembly in 1966 and has been dealing with the regulation of cross-border e-commerce since the early 1990s. Already in 1996, UNCITRAL adopted a “Model Law on Electronic Commerce” to promote the harmonisation and unification of international trade law.

The UNCITRAL Working Group IV deals with current legal issues of e-Commerce in parallel to the WTO.
