Q3/2018 - 3rd ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cyber Security

The 3^rdASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cyber Security was held on 19 and 20 September in Singapore during the Singapore Cybersecurity Week (SICW). Based on the “Brunei Statement on Cybersecurity Cooperation” adopted by the heads of state and government of the ASEAN member states on 27 April 2018, the ASEAN ministers launched an “ASEAN Singapore Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (ASCCE)” in Singapore. The center shall help to boost the cyber defence capacities of the ASEAN states and serve as a multidisciplinary center for cyber security capacity building in the region.

The new center shall further coordinate the national CERTs. Moreover, cooperation with other regional bodies, such as the OAS, OSCE and AU shall be expanded.
