Q4/2019 - Paris Peace Forum
Paris, 12 November 2019
1st Anniversary of the “Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace”
On 12 November 2019, a workshop was held within the framework of the 2nd Paris Peace Forum which evaluated the implementation of the “Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace”. The French Ambassador for digital affairs Henri Verdier informed that the Paris Call had gained more than 1,000 supporters from all parts of the world, including 76 governments, more than 643 private enterprises and more than 300 civil society organisations[1]. However, some important governments, such as that of the USA, China and Russia, were still withholding their support. Moreover, no Chinese Internet company had signed the Paris Call to date. For 2020, the French government was planning additional outreach measures. At the 3rd Paris Peace Forum in November 2020 they intend to present a new interim balance.
