Q4/2020 - Charter of Trust

Die jährliche Direktorensitzung der von Siemens 2018 initiierten „Charter of Trust“ (COT) hat am 22. Oktober 2020 die Einleitung ihrer „COT-Phase 2“ beschlossen. Entwickelt werden sollen 2021 neue Tools und Indikatoren, um die Anwendung der zehn Prinzipien der COT-Charta in den realen Vertragsbeziehungen ihrer Mitglieder besser messen zu können. Damit wollen die Mitglieder beitragen zu einem „Global Ecosystem of Trust“ und zur Bildung einer „Knowledge-Sharing Community.“ Die Sitzung wurde geleitet von den beiden Ko-Vorsitzenden Cedrik Neike, Vorstandsmitglied der Siemens AG, und Wolfgang Ischinger, Präsident der Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz (MSC)[1].

Webinar & Roadshow, Oktober – Dezember 2020

Das COT-Outreach-Programm wurde in den Monaten Oktober bis Dezember 2020 mit sechs virtuellen Webinaren und Roadshows fortgesetzt. Dabei ging es vor allem um Informationen über neuartige Bedrohungen im Cyberspace entlang der gesamten Lieferkette von digitalen Produkten und Dienstleistungen (Cybersecurity Threat Landscape) sowie die weitere Formierung eines Netzwerkes zum Austausch von Erfahrungen im Umgang mit Cyberattacken (Threat Information Sharing Network).

Associated Partner Forum, 13. Oktober 2020

Das „Canadian Centre for Cyber Security“ trat am 13. Oktober 2020 dem „Associated Partner Forum“ (APF) der Charter of Trust bei. Dem COT-APF gehören das deutsche Bundesamt für Informationssicherheit (BSI), das Hasso-Plattner-Institut Potsdam (HPI), die TU Graz mit ihrem Institute of Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIPC) und das spanische National Cryptologic Centre (CCN) an[2].

  1. [1] CoT’s Board of Directors greenlights key steps ahead, 22. Oktober 2020: : All Charter of Trust members agreed that the past year, with the accelerated digitization but also increased cyber threats that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, internal cooperation across global industrial sectors – the raison d’être of the Charter of Trust – had become more relevant than ever. Members of the Charter of Trust therefore reaffirmed their determination to work towards fostering an ecosystem of trust where knowledge is shared, innovation encouraged, and resilience against cybersecurity threats improved. Among the key steps endorsed by the Board of Directors was the decision to prepare the launch of a “Phase 2” in the Charter of Trust’s work. Building on and continuing the work conducted over the past 3 years to translate the Charter’s 10 Principles into Baseline Requirements and guidance documents, this new phase will seek to drive the concrete adoption and implementation of these principles in real life, thus maximizing the Charter’s contribution to a global ecosystem of trust.
